Gdansk is a beautiful port city on the Baltic coast of Poland. In addition to the magnificent Baltic Sea, Gdansk also has the Vistula River running through it, so it's no surprise some of the top hen party activities are water-based and you're going to be spoiled for choice when it comes to a hen weekend.
While there will be plenty to do and the shops and restaurants along the colourful facades of Long Market are sure to delight you and the girls, Maximise still has a few ideas and suggestions to make the hen weekend in Gdansk as magnificent as the city itself.
Get your hen party in Gdansk off to the best start, by being picked up at the airport in a Stretch Hummer. It's a little luxury and the best way to get from the airport your accommodation in the heart of the city. There is also no messing about with taxis or public transport, which is always a headache!
When it comes to accommodation, Maximise suggests the Central Apartments, because you have more room, more amenities and more comfort to that of a standard hotel. You also tend to save on the little things like being able to cook breakfast and make your own coffee rather than buying it out, you also won't have to worry about taxis as you'll be in the heart of the city, which will be another saving and plus!
After you have checked in and off-loaded the bags, it's time to sit back and relax as you soak up the sun and enjoy the panoramic views of Gdansk with a Harbour Cruise. Being a port city, a cruise is an absolute must and not to be missed during your hen weekend in Gdansk.
Then it's time to line the stomachs and get your hen party celebrations off to a great start with a delicious 2-Course Dinner before heading over to Sopot to experience some of the best nightlife in Poland.
Begin day two of your Gdansk hen weekend with a relaxing Spa Day. Perfect after or ahead of a big night, relax, recuperate and recover with unlimited access to the spa's facilities.
Then it's time to get a little dirty and enjoy an adrenaline rush with Quad Biking. While Quad Bikes don't sound like your usual hen party activity, they are surprisingly popular and always a hit with our hen parties.
Full of the classics and full of some of our top water-based activities, Gdansk hen parties are spoiled for choice when it comes to a top hen weekend and top hen party activities.
Aother all-time favourite the very eery, but very fun Escape Room!
Gdansk is one city that knows how to party where every door opens into something different and the nightlife is second to none...
Eastern Europe has some of the wildest nightclubs and outdoor parties in the world and Gdansk and its neighbouring towns are no exception.
Trust us, you and the bride's tribe are in for a real treat when it comes to the hen weekend in Gdansk.
Diversity is the name of the game in Gdansk. From wine and cocktail bars, vibrant clubs and watering holes along the water to World World II bunkers converted into mammoth multi-level clubs, Gdansk is one party city where variety and uniqueness are always on the cards.
As impressive as Gdansk's nightlife is, Maximise always recommends a guided bar crawl on the first night of your hen weekend. You'll get to know where everything is, discover some hidden gems and you won't waste any time wandering around in the search for something specific. Our guides know the city like the back of their hands and will tailor the crawl to suit your budgets and preferences, better yet, you'll know where you'll want to head for the second night of your hen weekend. Less tile walking and planning and more time enjoying, drinking and dancing!
Maximise can also sort you out with entry to the best clubs in the city and some great drinks packages once you're inside.
While Gdansk is a beautiful Polish city located on the Baltic Sea, it is often overshadowed and overlooked by the more popular hot spots of Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw.
However, with some of the best beaches in the Baltic, rich history and some fantastic sightseeing opportunities, Gdansk is certainly not second best in our books.
Get your Baltic beach time in at Stogi Beach or head to the neighbouring towns of Sopot and Gydnia - these beaches can compete with some of the best of them!
If you and the girls have some spare and sober time on your hands, get in some sightseeing by walking the length of Dlugi Targ. Also known as the Long Market or Royal Way, the Dlugi Targ is the main thoroughfare through Gdansk and it's lined with the Main Town Hall, Neptune Fountain and Bar Mleczny Neptun, which is one of the best milk bars in Gdansk and where you'll find a good, cheap, local meal.
Another must-see attraction during your Gdansk hen weekend is St. Mary’s Church, which dominates the Old Town and is one of the largest brick churches in the world.
People think it's all about Polish Vodka, but in recent years it's become more and more about Polish Craft Beer and microbreweries.
So if you and the girls love a pint, you love this Polish gem!
It shocked us too, but, Poland has a flourishing Craft Beer scene and is actually Europe's third-largest beer producer, producing 36.9 million hectolitres a year.
Many new, cosy little beer-focused venues have cemented their position onto the streets of the city and they have won over both locals and tourist alike. For beer lovers, be sure to check out Brovarnia, Cathead Multitap, Degustatornia, AleBrowar and Jozef K during your stag do in Gdansk.
Fun Fact: The city of Gdansk belongs to what the locals call, Trojmiasto, which translates to Tri-city and includes the neighbouring towns of Sopot and Gdynia.
While each city is independent and has its own city government and mayor, Gdansk is the oldest, largest and most commonly known of the three cities internationally and is recognised as being over 1,000 years old.
Despite being absolutely amazing, Gdansk is a country that doesn't often spring to mind when thinking about a hen weekend destination.
To us, it's a hidden gem and somewhere that must be visited, especially for a hen weekend. But, if it's not your cup of tea, some of our other top hen weekend destinations include Valencia, Madrid, Marbella, Tenerife, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Budapest.
